At its specific calibrated data point , it had zero error. Stay within the torque wrench’s upper and lower limits. Exceeding the prescribed limits of a torque wrench can damage it, or might affect the wrench’s calibration. Many torque wrenches have clearly indicated upper and lower torque tolerances.

I use my Crappy Tire Maximum 1/2” drive torque wrench twice a year. I think I’m good for calibration for a while. I would think old-school is a beam type wrench which is quite a bit more accurate than the best split beam or micrometer click wrench and yet very affordable. One more small item that sometimes traps novice torque wrench users… Beam type wrenches are simple , won’t go out of calibration and as noted above are accurate throughout the range.
